Questions

Is the 10% budget a bank rule?

No — it is an editable rule of thumb you choose. Nothing here says what is safe or comfortable to repay; a lender assesses income, existing debt and credit separately.

What is the difference between interest-only and EMI?

Interest-only pawning charges interest each month and leaves the full principal due at the end — you must repay the whole advance at once. An amortizing EMI loan spreads principal plus interest across every payment, so the loan is cleared by the final payment.

Why 70% of my gold’s value?

Regulated banks and finance companies in Sri Lanka are capped at lending 70% of gold collateral value under the CBSL rule — a lender can offer less. Informal lenders are not bound by that cap, and their terms differ.

Is my income sent anywhere?

Your income stays in this page — it is not added to share links or analytics. The share link carries only your assumptions (budget %, rate, term, karat); ticking the consent box adds the income figure if you choose to share it.
